Dear George,
The insert in the La Jolla paper, about the La Jolla Christmas Parade, is very well done. It looks like you have great organization skills at work. The marshal categories, and the committee chairs are excellent. It would seem like you have all of the bases covered.
I applaud you for your commitment. I know how much time and effort it takes to pull off a good parade.
I was especially happy to see that you feature the FCAS group with their Adopt A Pet program. I remember when I chaired, and co-chaired the parade, I would pull them up on stage, at the Rec Center, after the parade, and showcase the dogs. It was so very wonderful to hear that some of them were adopted on parade day.
The town is so lucky to have you working at the helm. You were always involved, back in the eighties, when I was working on the parade. You were so very helpful at the Float Building meetings we put on for the float entries, you used to help them with construction tips.
My hat is off to you. I know the parade will be wonderful!
Best regards,
Patricia Hausman
Chair 1987
Co-chair 1986 & 1988
P.S. I worked on the parade in one capacity or another from 1983 until 1996 so I truly know the time sacrifices you are making. Thank you.
