The family wished to take an existing oceanfront custom home down to less than 50 percent of its existing studs, to completely remodel both the exterior and the interior of the home, building a new pool, outdoor terrace, fire-pit and barbecue area. Design-wise, the challenge for GDC was to transform the residence from a contemporary style to a more classic Mediterranean-style home.
OUR SOLUTION
The rebuild and design transformation was accomplished by working closely with the client on everything from interior and exterior design concepts, to the selection of custom materials, including reclaimed timber and reclaimed French tiles. The result was a transformation into one of La Jolla’s most elegant residences, with a custom-designed interior featuring a Spanish-style staircase, all-custom cabinetry and a gourmet kitchen.
We love our home and receive many compliments about the curb appeal and detail of the construction. GDC was very responsive during the bidding process, effectively managed the job, and produced the highest quality work while maintaining a very clean environment. The level of professionalism exhibited throughout the entire GDC team is exceptional. We are very pleased we chose GDC for the renovation of our home.
